WATCH: Carnell Tate declares himself best receiver in 2026 NFL Draft

· Yahoo Sports

We are currently in the midst of the 2026 NFL Combine, and players are doing their best to show NFL teams that they deserve a spot in the draft. Players are introducing themselves, both personally and by showing off their individual attributes.

12 Buckeyes are either working out or speaking to media at the combine. Carnell Tate doesn't work out until Saturday afternoon, but he spoke to the media on Friday morning, leaving a fair number of interesting quotes.

Most of the interview was relatively bland––he spoke about the teams he met with, what they asked him (very generic answers like speaking about reading coverage and "talking ball"), but there were plenty of impressive moments. Tate spoke about what being at Ohio State meant to him, what former teammates he could play with in the NFL, and what he expects from the Buckeyes next year.

The biggest splash, though, came when he categorically declared himself the best receive in this year's draft (most mock drafts agree at this point), with "no question" about it. He said it's because he can "do it all." He runs routes well, catches contested balls, and blocks well in the running game.

The whole interview is mildly interesting (with, as mentioned, a lot of bland parts), but the best question and answer come at 5:43.
