Alex Remiro responds to Barcelona transfer talk

Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro has been quizzed on speculation that Barcelona want to bring him in during the summer as a back-up to Joan Garcia.

Barcelona interest in Remiro is nothing new, but Deco is said to have met with the stopper’s agents again recently to discuss the possibility of a transfer.

Remiro has been asked about the rumors and certainly wasn’t ruling out the prospect of a move to Camp Nou.

“I’ve heard something on the networks, but now I’m very focused on Real. We have a Cup final and we are very focused and excited about winning it. Barça? You never know,” he told La Sexta.

Barcelona will have Garcia as first choice next season but could be in the market for a back-up if Wojciech Szczęsny decides to call it a day.

The goalkeeper will turn 36 next month but did sign a two-year extension last summer that runs until 2027.
