Austin grad named Mon-Dak Coach of the Year

Mar. 16— Austin grad Gach Gach was named Mon-Dak Coach of the Year at North Dakota State College of Science, an NJCAA Division I school in Wahpeton, N.D.

In his first full season as head head coach, Gach led the Wildcats to a conference title, with a record of 26-6 overall.
NDSCS was eliminated in the Region championship when they lost to Dawson Community College 67-66.
Austin native Cham Okey had 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three steals in the loss for the Wildcats. Okey averaged 19.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in his first season at NDSC after a year at Division I Southern Illinois-Edwardsville.
