The Pittsburgh Steelers could be willing to include a premier defensive starter in trade talks this offseason.

According to Nick Harris of The Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Steelers have been receiving calls on linebacker Patrick Queen's availability.

The Philadelphia Eagles are among the handful of teams that have reached out to Pittsburgh.

"I’m keeping an eye on Patrick Queen at the moment. A handful of teams have called Pittsburgh about a trade here (including the Eagles)," Harris said.

Queen has started all 17 games for five straight years and has proven to be a solid starter for the Steelers, though his struggles in coverage do raise some concerns. However, he is a high-energy player who is on a fairly cheap deal for his level of play.

Nevertheless, the New York Giants, Green Bay Packers, and San Francisco 49ers should be interested in making a trade for Queen.

New York signed Tremaine Edmunds to replace Bobby Okereke, who was released last week. However, they could still use another starting-caliber player in the linebacker room, and Queen could be that guy.

Green Bay lost Quay Walker to the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency, so Queen could emerge as a potential trade target to replace Walker.

San Francisco would be a wild-card team for Queen. Playing next to Fred Warner would mask Queen's weaknesses in coverage and let him be a tone-setter on the 49ers' defense, the role he is most comfortable in.

Overall, Queen isn't an irreplaceable player, so there's a chance the Steelers trade him. The Giants, Packers, and 49ers are just three teams that could have interest in the veteran defender.
